Straight up, no bones about it, no way to dispute it, if they can read People WILL Read What's On Your Shirt!
Put something about yourself on your shirt and not only will they read it they will strain to see it. They will position themselves for a better look. Stand in line at a fast food joint and at any given moment someone will be checking it out. I'm telling you people can't help it.
With a brief description of your skills and what you're looking for (a cover letter basically) on your shirt you will be getting interviewed constantly in the minds of people who read it! If they happen to know of something that might be a match it will occur to them to say something!

Save money by making your own. Here's how!
Over the years the vendor I use has continued to raise their prices to the point where I just can't try and sell a shirt for over $30 just to cover my own expenses. So I decided to just plant the idea in your head and show you how to make your own. It's easy to do and it will save you money!! Ready?
First develop the content of your cover letter. Keep it brief! People won't read it if it's too long! I limited it to 500 characters. Write it as though you were submitting it formally yet generic enough that all your bases are covered. I suggest a brief description of your skills and what kind of position you are looking for. I recommend doing it in a word processor like Word and utilizing it's spell check and word count tools. Here is a sample that you can view or download as a template. It is a .png file made in Adobe Fireworks.
Next open up your favorite image editing software like Photoshop or Fireworks. Create a new image and make the canvas as large as possible. I made mine 2000px by 2000px. The larger the resolution the better the quality will be on the printed shirt. If you can, set the background color or canvas color to transparent. If not then just leave it white. Copy and paste your text to your new image. Now choose a font. I used Times New Roman and made it BIG : 122 pt. As far as justifying the text it is a matter of preference. Some people liked it to be justified (aligned on both left and right sides) others didn't. It can cause some spacing issues so just play with it until you get it to your liking.
Now find an online t-shirt printer. Or since you've taken matters into your own hands you may be able to find a local outfit where you can take your image on a flash drive and save even more $$. Recently I found a place called Printfection.com that seems to be a little cheaper than the big ones like Cafepress. There is also Zazzle.com and many, many others. How this works is that you simply upload your image to the back of the shirt. Make sure you fill the entire area they have allocated with your image. Save, add to cart and check out. Now hit the streets!
I regret having to do this but I just can't justify charging people who are already strapped so much for one of these shirts. From a business perspective it is a no brainer as I have never really made any money on these and frankly with my time rolled into each one I was losing money.

Ok, I'm going to throw this idea out there for the serious and adventurous job seeker. Call the news and let them know what you're doing. Tell them you're walking around with your resume on your shirt. Tell them "I need a job"! I DID!!!. Granted when I did it was an attempt to get some exposure for this site but the News station thought it was much more interesting to spin it as a story about a guy who "wears his credentials like a badge of courage" and not so much about this site . It did generate a lot of traffic for this site but that's not the best part. A lady, home sick from work, was watching the noon news when my story aired. She saw it and called the I.T. manager of the company she worked for who she knew was looking for someone like me. Call it Karma or whatever you like but things fell into place and I landed a great job. That was in mid 2005 when all that went down. You may not have this site to promote but I bet if you try you might get some press as a human interest story. Call them and tell them you are walking around with your resume on your shirt. GO TO ANY LENGTHS TO GET NOTICED!!!!!!!
This is the original i need a job news story that a local news station did. I'm not a big fan of it but here it is anyway. This was back in 2005.
More recently I was contacted by CNN for this interview. Needless to say I was pretty surprised. Initially the interview was supposed to be about how this sites traffic stats could be a representation of the current job situation in the U.S. but as you'll see that's not where it went.

Post you vdieo resme here. Hey it might get you noticed. After all one of my best pieces of advice it ti go to any lengths to get noticed. When you need a job you need to keep comng up with the next stragedy, the next idea. Sometimes I may post some tips and tricks and probably won't be able to resist throwing up a vid I just find funny to keep the tone light when appropriate.
