Those with EMT jobs often find themselves with a lot of days off or wanting a second job to supplement their current paycheck.
However, when looking for a second job, it's important to find a position that will still allow you to have a good work life balance and keep you active. And believe it or not, there are plenty of high-paying jobs that will allow you to do both of those things.
Here are the top 10 best-paying side jobs for EMTs, as compiled by FireLink:
- FedEx, UPS, Postal Service - Package carriers such as these usually offer employees flexible work schedules and great benefits, with some even offering part-time employees benefits after only three months. They also require a good amount of physical labor. The top-paying job with FedEx is aircraft mechanic/service technician, earning $33.04 per hour.
- Handyman or handywoman - This occupation will allow you to improve your handywork. Another plus - you can usually set your own hours and pay.
- EMT/Firefigher - Most people work as either an EMT or a firefighter, but why not do both? This would allow you to remain completely dedicated to the fire and rescue service, as opposed to working one full-time job and pursuing another part-time.

- Landscaping - This occupation is pretty physically demanding, and allows you to set your own schedule and salary.
